Once I go back to work I'll be commuting by bike, so that will be my main form of exercise. It will only be a total of 8 miles a day (about 40 minutes), but at least it is something. I'll have to try and add some conditioning in there in the morning or after getting home. I talked briefly to Josh about getting a family membership to a YMCA in the fall to be able to use the gym during the colder months and to take Harper to the pool.
Speaking of going back to work, my maternity leave is running out! I was really not looking forward to going back for a while, but after visiting the office and talking with my boss a week ago, I feel better about it. My first day back is June 14th. It's hard to believe 8 weeks are going by so quickly. I've been saying that about time a lot lately. I guess as we get older we're more aware of time and the often lack of time for many things in our lives. I only hope I can find a good balance between work and family to be able to really enjoy Harper as he grows up and have plenty of time as a family. The good news is that my work is being very flexible and accommodating. It looks like I'll be in the office three, maybe four, days a week with the opportunity to do a day of work from home.
Harper's latest:
Harper now weighs 10.5 lbs! He's noticeably growing each and every day. He started smiling a while ago but is now smiling more often and in response to us playing with him. We've also heard a few giggles (and not just when he's falling asleep!). He easily rolls to his side but has yet to roll to his tummy. Last but not least, he's super cute...some things don't change! :)
