We observed Labor Day on Sunday since Joshua planned to work on Monday and take advantage of the extra hours. Doesn't their house look simply lovely and inviting? They've done so much work on their house to update it including the whole second story you see here. I took advantage of the large tub in their master bath to soak and relax that morning. It felt great.
Later that afternoon my family joined us for a nice lunch and time outdoors. The air was crisp and windy, but the sun was bright and warm. Harper loved walking around the flower bed picking marigolds. It's a good thing they had hundreds, maybe thousands, or he would have picked them all. He also enjoyed seeing the butterflies, to which he would exclaim, "buh-byeee!"
Harper has become more of a mommy's boy these past few weeks. I'm not sure if it's because of me staying home or teething or just because. I suppose I should eat it up while I can. Here he is bringing some marigolds to me. I love the little hugs and kisses he gives. So sweet.
Harper had plenty of attention that weekend between his Auntie Laura, Auntie Kristen, Uncle Aaron, Grammy, Papa David, Amma, Grandma K, Grandpa K, Daddy and me. He was even spoiled the evening before with a visit with his great-grandma Nonny. She makes the greatest applesauce ever, and Harper loves eating it up. It's cute to hear him try to say applesauce. It's getting there.
This picture captures a fun moment. My dad was pretending to sleep in the grass and Harper leaned over him saying, "hi, hi?" My dad unexpectedly woke up and said, "boo!" Harper jumped up and landed on his bottom laughing. It was hilarious. It's too bad we didn't get it on camera.
