The Cold Cure: Hot Chocolate?

Harper, Josh and I have all been sick within the last week. After having the sniffles, sore throats, and congested passageways, I think we're all excited to be on the mend. Josh ended up toughing it up through work, but I stayed home sick on Friday and yesterday. I was feeling so much better Monday morning, but by the time I went home from work the cold had hit me full on again. Since Josh's day to care for Harper was yesterday, he took care of me too with this delicious and fancy looking hot chocolate and of course some chicken noodle soup (not at the same time!).

In other news, I had my last shift at REI last Thursday. I'm sad to leave REI because I truly loved working there. It was by far the best part-time job I've had. The company is awesome, my co-workers were awesome, and the discount is awesome. A couple of my supervisors said I'm welcome back any time...after all, I did sell 5 memberships my last evening shift there!

Saturday, Harper and I (Josh had to work) went with the young adults group from our church to Aamodt's Apple Farm for a wine tour/tasting and to soak in sights and smells of Fall. Harper took a nap during most of it, but it was a great time with wonderful people. I also, of course, had to splurge on some kettle corn!

The apple farm was just outside of Stillwater, so after making the rounds at Aamodts, a few of us headed into downtown Stillwater to the Freight House for some lunch. Harper is going to be so ready to eat solids! He's always watching us when we eat and reaching for our food. We've given him a few tastes off of our fingers, and he always wants more. Only half a month left before we start with cereal!

Sunday, we met up with more young adults after church at the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis. I've heard so much about the Global Market and have been wanting to check it out, so I was excited to give it a try. The Global Market is full of various vendors from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. They have everything from food and groceries to clothing and trinkets. Josh headed to Mexico for lunch, and I headed to the Holy Land. There are so many wonderful looking and smelling foods to choose from, so you can be sure we'll be back for round 2! Oh, and there's this great stand called the "Salty Tart"where we bought a piece of yummy cheesecake for dessert.

Tonight was choir night! We're singing a lot of great and challenging music this year including Bach, Buxtehude and Faure. At the end of the choir season (sometime in the Spring), we're topping it off with a concert with full orchestra! I'll have to look up the dates so those of you who live close by can make sure to get it on your calendars. Josh was nominated choir president for this season, and one thing he's trying to do is have someone sign up each week to bring treats for after rehearsal. I thought I'd be a good president's wife and sign up for the first week. I made Dream Bars (coconut and walnut deliciousness from my grandma's (& great-grandma's) recipe) and brownies. The Dream Bars were by far the preferred choice.

Well, little man is asleep so I'd best be off to bed myself. It's my day to be home with Harper tomorrow, but I have a lot I'd like to do...like actually get some exercise and clean the bathroom! I was about to add dusting to the list but decided I'd better not set myself up for failure.

Harper has changed so much, at least judging from the last pictures that you posted. He is adorable! We had something like a Moby wrap too, but Fanda didn´t like it all that much, he prefers the Manduda. It´s also faster to put on than a wrap. But you look great carrying Harper around in the Moby! I also absolutely love the diaper bag, the colors are so elegant and fresh... I can´t wait to get a sewing machine (hopefully for Christmas) and start playing around with cloths. I hope all three of you are feeling better now.
