Oregon 2010

A week and a half ago, we headed out on a quick trip to Portland for my cousin Sabrina's wedding. I was somewhat concerned about taking a baby on an airplane for the first time, but Harper did amazingly well! He pretty much slept the whole time while flying (see picture below!), and the few moments he was awake he spent smiling and talking. The only hiccups we had in our travels were delays in the first leg from Minneapolis to Denver. After over an hour of sitting on the plane, we finally made our way down the runway. We also had to circle once before landing in Denver, but we still made our connecting flight to Portland as our pilots and crews were flying our next flight as well!
We arrived in Portland pretty late, so we immediately went to bed and got up early Saturday morning for my cousin Sabrina and Luke's wedding. It was a busy day, but we were so happy to be able to be there to support Sabrina and Luke and to share in their happiness. The attendants' processional was really cute as they walked up to "We're going to the chapel and we're gonna get married!" The reception was really nice with a lot of really great food and fun dancing! Congratulations Sabrina and Luke!!!
Sunday morning we headed South to Corvallis to visit with my Grandpa and his wife Ruth. Here's a picture of the four generations:
Grandpa was certainly excited to meet our "little feller." That afternoon, Grandpa treated us all to lunch at a fish house restaurant with wonderful FRESH seafood! That is certainly something I love about the Northwest! It's not that you can't get fresh fish in Minnesota...it's just not the same. Grandpa and Ruth made a blueberry cobbler for dessert with berries he and my Aunt Deb recently picked. Yum!

After spending the afternoon at Grandpas, we headed to my mom's cousin's house where more family gathered for dinner (I ate way to much on this trip!). They built this gorgeous home with a full length deck:
I don't know if it's always like this at their house, but both times we've visited there, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. We had a really fun time catching up with family. I don't think I had seen some of them since I was in grade school!
Our last day, Monday, was spent back at my cousin's house near Portland. We just relaxed and spent quality time together. I think Harper had the most fun as he was being constantly entertained by someone and giggling non-stop! What a cutie!

We had a great time but were happy to make it home safely and see Josh/daddy. I've made it back to Oregon three times in the past four years. I hope it's not too long before making another Northwest trek!
