It's finished! The diaper bag sat almost complete for awhile as I searched for some metal feet to go on the bottom. Hancocks ended up having them. The pattern is from Amy Butler's "Little Stitches for Little Ones," but I've added quite a few things like longer shoulder straps, tab and velcro closure with cute button, laminated fabric reinforcing on the corners and straps, and D-rings on the sides in case I ever want to attach it to a stroller handle bar. Now to repair and reinforce my old one...
I made sure to use decor weight fabric and extra reinforcing where I've noticed the most wear on the one my mom made me. Now that I have two, they'll wear out less quickly as well. Even though this one is still flowery, it's a step up for Josh since it's not so girly and pink like the first one. I think he's overcome any hesitations of being seen in public with girly looking/baby things. Good thing too since we'll have a little girl around come July/August!

I wish I had the skills (and time) to make something so unique and functional... Love the pattern, too.
