Change of Plans

We had a really nice weekend despite it not going exactly as planned. This isn't the first time a baby or now toddler has mixed things up and it won't be the last. Saturday we had a wonderful dinner with our friends the Hollerans and their two girls as planned. Harper seems to get along with the girls really well and loves playing with all of their toys.

Sunday morning after church and lunch, I got a call from the hair salon just as I was about to walk out the door and head to my haircut appointment. The stylist went home sick so I had to reschedule my appointment. Definitely not the end of the world, but I was looking forward to it. Shortly after, Harper was all hyped up and running to the porch. He must have tripped on the threshold and fell hard. His cry was genuine and seemed to have a hurt knee and/or ankle. It didn't swell or turn black and blue, so we decided to let him nap and see how he felt afterwards. Harper still didn't want to walk on it after his nap, so we called off our plans to go to the National Lutheran Choir concert and called the nurse line to see if we should take him in. We were advised to give him some tylenol and ice it then see how he felt in the morning.

My parents were in Las Vegas for my dad's academy reunion and called to say they wanted to stop by after landing here in Minneapolis. It was a nice impromptu surprise. We ordered a pizza from Fat Lorenzo's and enjoyed their company.

It wasn't a super exciting weekend but fun none-the-less. We're thankful to report that Harper's leg seems to be fine and was probably just a sprain or temporary soreness.
