He is still very keen on throwing everything, especially his milk, food, and anything substantially heavy. He can walk backwards, "dance" by quickly stomping his feet or swaying side to side, sit down in your lap, sign "milk," and climb on just about anything. Harper says "mama" and "dada" more consistently now, which we LOVE. And for the first time ever, he folded his hands while we said our dinner prayer tonight. Priceless! Every stage is fun, but it is so exciting to watch him grow and learn so quickly. It's nice to have him reciprocate feelings and respond with words and understandable actions. He also likes to give his animals hugs and then tackles them to the ground.
There are of course drawbacks of having a 15 month old, namely tantrums. Harper can throw a pretty good one, and it's usually because he gets ahold of something he shouldn't and we have to take it away. Once he has his hands on the untouchable, he pretty much never gives it up...unless it will make a big noise when thrown to the ground. Here are a couple good photos from the past week or so:
Climbing at the tot playground.
Messy ice cream.
Yummy picnic.
Listening to the bluegrass band at church.
Strolling the farmer's market.
Thinking back to yesterday reminds me of Sunday's church service. I was especially drawn into Pastor Chris's message. I'm not good at paraphrasing, so if you happen to have some time and are interested, I encourage you to give it a read here: Think Small
We also were pleasantly surprised that music was led by a bluegrass group named Monroe's Crossing. I love bluegrass (it's definitely one of my favorite styles, if not my favorite). Monroe's Crossing is a very talented group of musicians and were able to engage everyone in the congregation in their music and worshiping God. We purchased one of their cds and will be looking out for them playing concerts in the area.
I'm working three 10s in a row this week so I'd best get to bed!
