Potty Training

Harper has now been in underwear throughout the day (excluding nap and bedtime) for a whole month! Looking back, we set the precedence for going on the potty quite awhile ago by always having him try to pee on the potty before bath time. It was the first week of June when we decided to dedicate the time and energy to fully potty train. Harper quickly caught on and although accidents still happen every once in a while, we are far beyond going back to diapers. I love how Harper will quietly say, "go potty," with a slight nod of his head. And how after I acknowledge him with an, "okay, let's go!," he will exclaim, "thank you for telling us!," with a lit up face and big smile. He even told us he had to go potty while in the wading pool at the park. I was pretty impressed. Going poo on the potty is going much slower than pee, but he is definitely getting it. I'm not quite ready to bring back the new area rugs and remove the towels from the living room furniture, but it won't be long now.
