Happy Easter

We had an Easter to remember this year! We woke up at 4:15am so we could be at church for choir rehearsal at 5:30am. Sunrise service started at 6am, Easter Breakfast at 7am, and the following services at 9:15am and 10:30am. Josh and I sang with the choir at all but the last service since our families attended the 9:15 service. It was so much fun to sing with the senior choir at such a memorable service. We sang “This is the Day” (in Latin), “Wana Baraka” (a traditional Kenyan spiritual), and “Hallelujah Chorus” (complete with organ, brass band and timpani). I wish we had a recording of it!

Above is a picture of us with our friends Erik and Lara near the front of the church. The four of us have had a great time growing our friendship within and outside of church. 

Some of our family came up this way to be with us for Easter Service and dinner. We hosted dinner at our house but had lots of great help putting a meal together. I made chicken Kiev and Lutheran potatoes (cheesy potatoes, really), and everyone else chipped in with rolls, salad, broccoli amandine, fruit salad, and cheesecake!

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful Easter day here in Minnesota. The sun was beaming and the air was warm. We spent a little time outside even. My brother Ryan was nice enough to dig/ax out a stump in the backyard. Thanks Ryan! And a big thank you to everyone who helped prepare and clean up after dinner!
