Whitewater State Park

Last Friday and Saturday, Josh and I joined my parents and brother Trevor for some fishing and river adventures. It was the best summer weekend! We ate like kings and queens with made to order omelets for breakfast, taco in a bag for lunch, chicken and potatoes (we didn't catch any fish the first day) with cabbage for dinner, and pineapple upside-down cake for dessert. We had a fabulous time canoeing down the Whitewater River, stopping along the way to try and snag some fish. I didn't fish, but I throughly enjoyed swimming with (and against!) the current. Josh and Trev managed to capsize the Stripper while trying to avoid some fallen trees. I can't help but laugh thinking about it! Josh lost his Sigg bottle to the river. :( We thought it was a gonner, but my mom spotted it on the bottom awhile later. My dad jumped into the river, grabbed the Sigg and saved the day! The weekend was also enhanced by our meeting Trout Walker (Mike). What a name. Supposedly he's a pro fisherman and pretty much just fishes all day every day. He said he typically catches 500 trout a year. He is quite a character. Trout gave Trev some fishing tips and even joined us for dinner. Josh and I had to head home Saturday night without catching even one fish...but Trev and my parents stayed two more days and caught 11 trout!
