Both Josh and I agree that child care is one of the worst places to work if you hate being sick. Not only do you have a constant cold, but the kids pass on nasty viruses that'll hit you every once in a while. One of those stomach bugs hit me this weekend. My nose has been running for over 2 weeks, and now I've dealt with vomiting and fever. I was sick yesterday and spent the whole day either on the couch watching movies and t.v. or sleeping in bed. Yuck. Now poor Josh is sick today with the same symptoms. It was only a couple months ago that I contracted this same type of virus. At least Josh lucked out that time and didn't get sick.
I feel so horrible for the babies in my room who get sick much more often than I do. The sickness cycle never ends. It doesn't help that my room has no outside windows and no air circulation. Everyone says that after a year in this type of environment you'll be pretty much immune to everything...I would argue differently.
For all of you who send your kids to day care, take this as fair warning that you'll have sick kids more often and have to take more sick days off of work than ever before. And if you have any infants in day care, they will most likely need tubes put in their ears before they are one year old.
